Description
La pivoine Sorbet, de son nom latin Paeonia lactiflora x Sorbet, doit son nom aux couleurs de sa superbe fleur. Composée de grands pétales roses surmontés d’une couronne de petits pétales blanc crème, le tout recouvert par un coeur rose tendre, elle forme un superbe pompon double et offre, en plus, son délicieux parfum qui ravira votre odorat.

La pivoine Sorbet est un hybride de la pivoine de Chine. Ses fleurs sont d’une beauté subtile et atteignent 8 à 12 centimètres de diamètre. Ce sont de véritables ornements pour vos jardins, mais elles ne le sont pas moins dans un vase pour embellir et embaumer votre habitation.

La pivoine une plante très résistante qui peut survivre jusqu’à plus de cinquante ans. Elle s’adapte généralement à tout bon sol de jardin, mais apprécie ceux plutôt riches et frais. C’est une plante qui ne supporte pas l’excès d’humidité qui risque de faire pourrir ses racines. Pour bien fleurir, la pivoine sorbet a besoin d’être installée en situation plutôt ensoleillée ou légèrement ombragée l’après midi. Vigoureuse, elle a besoin d’espace pour bien s’épanouir et il est nécessaire de laisser de 80 à 100 cm entre les plantes.

Il faut attendre que la plante soit bien enracinée pour profiter de sa floraison. Pour bien planter cette fleur et lui assurer un bon développement, il faut que la terre soit bien bêchée et enrichie avec un peu de compost. Vous installerez votre plante, dans un trou, suffisamment grand, en plaçant les bourgeons dirigés vers le haut, à peine sous le niveau du sol. Après avoir rebouché le trou avec un mélange de terre fine et de terreau ou de compost bien mûr, terminez par un bon arrosage, même par temps humide. Enfin, placez un tuteur pour signaler la plante et éviter de l’abimer en entretenant votre massif. La période de plantation de la pivoine s’étale de février à mai et de septembre à décembre. Sa floraison se produit en mai et juin.

Cette plante peut atteindre 90 centimètres de hauteur. Les feuilles, assez touffues, sont caduques. Elle peut être plantée en bordure d’allée ou au milieu d’un massif, associée à d’autres plantes vivaces aux floraisons échelonnées, mais elle peut aussi fournir de superbes fleurs à mettre en vase et orner la maison.

Des soins doivent être apportés à cette plante pour profiter d’une floraison abondante qui ira crescendo d’année en année. Il faut, à chaque début de saison procéder à un tuteurage des tiges chargées de fleurs. Par temps sec en été, quelques arrosages seront utiles. Les fleurs fanées doivent être coupées rapidement et les tiges desséchées doivent être enlevées en automne. A cette occasion, vous pourrez faire un apport de compost ou de terreau à enfouir autour de la plante par un léger griffage.
