Sedum Purple Carpet Stonecrop Sedum Spurium Coccineum is a succulent, hardy perennial ground cover that is evergreen in mild climates. Sedum Purple Carpet seeds should be just pressed into the soil because they need light to germinate, so it is not recommended to cover the seeds. Sedum Purple Carpet is a compact growing plant, and it is mat-forming foliage with narrow, oblong, green leaves sometimes turn reddish in fall.
